Hospital Donations

During this heartwarming outreach event, KAPA organized and executed a comprehensive gift distribution initiative at a local hospital, targeting pregnant women and mothers of newborns. Unlike many distribution efforts that focus on a single area, KAPA's reach extended across the hospital's entire children's section. In a show of thorough planning and respect for the institution, the KAPA team notified the hospital ahead of time and coordinated directly with the medical doctor in charge, ensuring the distribution was smooth, orderly, and well-received by staff and patients alike. All donated items were transported to the hospital by vehicle, ready to be placed in the hands of those who needed them most.

The distribution itself was led with warmth and dedication by the CEO's wife, who personally handed gifts to mothers of newborns and pregnant women throughout the ward. The KAPA CEO was equally present on the ground, engaging directly with hospital leadership and walking the floor to connect with recipients. His personal attention extended to one mother who had mistakenly received the wrong items — he made sure she was given everything she was entitled to, leaving no one overlooked. Mr. Komba Soka of the KAPA team took the opportunity to interview several of the mothers, capturing their reactions and stories firsthand, while the KAPA media team documented the full event for the record.

The reaction from recipients was one of pure joy and gratitude. Mothers and families described the gifts as a complete surprise — none had expected such generosity. One father was moved to express how much the items would have cost him out of pocket, highlighting just how meaningful and timely KAPA's support was for families at one of the most vulnerable and joyful moments of their lives. The women were visibly elated, and their appreciation for KAPA's work was sincere and deeply felt.

Each gift package was thoughtfully assembled to meet the immediate needs of newborns and their mothers. Items included baby wash, baby lotion, baby oil, pacifiers, bibs, baby towels, wipes, diapers, baby Vaseline, baby dresses, baby shoes, pyjamas, baby food, feeding bottles, and more. Through this distribution, KAPA once again demonstrated its unwavering commitment to the health, dignity, and wellbeing of the Kono community — showing up not just with resources, but with care, intention, and a personal touch that left a lasting impression on every family it reached.

KDEC Primary School Mboma

Our donation of 30 computers to Fourah Bay College (FBC) and 25 computers to IPAM marks a transformative step towards bringing the digital age to the forefront of education in Sierra Leone. These contributions not only provide hardware but represent a pivotal moment in the academic landscape of both institutions.

By infusing technology into the classrooms and campuses of FBC and IPAM, we are enabling students and faculty to access a whole new world of knowledge and possibilities. The 55 computers serve as gateways to vast online libraries, research databases, and collaborative platforms, allowing for a richer and more dynamic learning experience.

In an era where digital literacy and technological competency are prerequisites for success, our donation empowers students to harness the power of technology, enhancing their research, communication, and problem-solving skills. It also broadens horizons by exposing them to emerging fields, ensuring they are prepared for the challenges and opportunities of the future.

The Blind School

In a deeply compassionate act of community service, KAPA dispatched a delegation to a local school for the blind, arriving with a broad and thoughtfully assembled collection of donated goods intended to support the daily lives of the students and staff. The visit reflected KAPA's understanding that meaningful giving goes beyond school supplies and educational tools — it extends to the fundamental needs of comfort, nourishment, hygiene, and dignity. Mr. Abdul Sesay opened the occasion with a formal statement outlining the items being delivered and took the opportunity to introduce the KAPA members present to the school community, grounding the visit in a spirit of connection and mutual respect.

Komba Soka formally outlined the full list of donated items, which included towels, rice, oil, sugar, toilet soaps, laundry soaps, toothpastes, toothbrushes, onions, used shoes, unused clothing, blankets, and more. The breadth of the donation spoke volumes about the care and intentionality KAPA brought to this visit — addressing everything from daily nutrition and personal hygiene to warmth and clothing for students who rely on the support of their community in ways that go far beyond the classroom. Each item was selected with the real, everyday needs of the school's blind students in mind, making the donation both practical and profoundly impactful.

The response from the school was one of sincere and moving gratitude. One of the teachers offered a heartfelt statement of appreciation, reflecting on what the donation meant not just materially but emotionally — as a sign that the blind community had not been forgotten or overlooked. The principal of the blind school, Mr. Sesay, delivered a formal thank you message to KAPA, acknowledging the delegation's generosity and the positive difference their visit would make in the lives of the students. The event was a powerful reminder of KAPA's commitment to reaching every corner of the Kono community, including its most vulnerable members, with compassion, resources, and the assurance that they are seen, valued, and supported.
