Day 1

Football Gala

The Ibrahim Dainkeh Memorial Soccer Gala is KAPA's annual inter-school football competition celebrating youth athletic achievement in the Kono District. The gala features both male and female secondary school divisions, with teams placed into groups for a structured tournament. Schools interested in participating should contact KAPA in advance to register — [PLACEHOLDER: contact name, phone number, and email] — as registration requirements including deadlines, squad size, and eligibility details must be confirmed before a school can be entered. Families, friends, and community members are warmly welcome to attend and support their schools.

  • Eligibility: Open to secondary schools in the Kono District with separate male and female competitions
  • Prizes: Winners receive a championship trophy, gold medals, cash prize, soccer balls, volleyballs, and a camping allowance per match. Runners-up receive equivalent silver medals and prizes. Individual awards are given for Best Player, Best Goalkeeper, and Highest Goal Scorer

Day 2

Awards Night

The KAPA Annual Prestigious Awards Night recognizes outstanding individuals, schools, and organizations across the Kono District for contributions in philanthropy, humanitarianism, education, and community leadership. Posthumous awards are also presented to honor lasting legacies. Nominees are identified and evaluated by KAPA's Selection Committee. Community members, families, and dignitaries are encouraged to attend and celebrate the honorees. Day 3

Carnival Night

The KAPA Free Street Carnival is held every year on December 29th at Opera Main Street, Koidu, running from 8:00 PM to 5:00 AM. Open to the entire community at no cost, the carnival is a celebration of Kono culture featuring live music, local artists, food, and refreshments. Professor Juldeh Sesay and KAPA members personally donate food and drinks to the event. Since 2020 the carnival has grown into one of the most anticipated community gatherings of the year, drawing traditional leaders, local and international dignitaries, and people from across the district.

Day 4

Healthcare

Each year KAPA delegates visit Koidu Government Hospital to donate essential supplies to newborns, pregnant women, children under five, and children experiencing malnutrition. Donations include clothing, hygiene products, feeding supplies, and a wide range of baby care essentials. The visit is a direct expression of KAPA's commitment to the health and wellbeing of Kono's most vulnerable community members.d

Day 5

Education Initiatives

Professor Juldeh Sesay, in partnership with KAPA members, hosts an annual town hall at the Fillie Faboe Multipurpose Hall, bringing together secondary schools, higher learning institutions, technical institutes, and government bodies to receive donated learning materials. Donations have included computers, laptops, projectors, printers, textbooks, and science lab equipment. The event also features guest speakers and is open to school staff, government officials, and community stakeholders. Schools and institutions that have not previously received donations are encouraged to reach out to KAPA to express interest. Day 6

The Less Privileged

Each year KAPA distributes school supply packs directly to primary school children across Koidu, Tankoro, and surrounding chiefdoms in the Kono District. Every child receives a bag, exercise book, crayons, pencils, pens, eraser, ruler, sharpener, and water bottle. The initiative reaches thousands of children across both urban schools and more remote chiefdom communities, ensuring that even the least resourced areas receive support.
